Your footage stays on your Mac. The story is built in the cloud.
The app works with media right on your disk and exchanges timelines with DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro and Premiere Pro. Only compressed audio and text ever leave your machine.

Everything the web does. Plus your disk and your NLE.
The web takes one audio file and one XML at a time. The app sees the whole project folder, finds media next to the timeline on its own and returns the result to where it came from.
Import an XML and the app locates the sources next to it, builds the mixed track and compresses it for upload.
Resolve, Final Cut and Premiere: three exports from one story, each keeping its link to the original timeline.
Three steps, no Terminal
Download the archive
Click “Download for Mac”. Safari unpacks the archive by itself; in other browsers, double-click the zip.
Drag it to Applications
Move Echora.app into your Applications folder. The app is signed and notarized, so Gatekeeper opens it without workarounds.
Same login as on the website. Projects, subscription and story versions are shared between the web and the app.
The app offers new versions itself
Once a day, quietly
The check runs in the background. When a new build is available, you see a dialog with the changes.
Never mid-work
An update is never installed without your consent and never interrupts an import or export.
Manually: Echora → Check for Updates…
Same feed as the automatic check. The beta channel is available on request via support.
The essentials
How is the app different from the web version?
The web takes one audio file and one XML at a time. The app works with the project folder on disk, builds the mixed track itself and returns XML to your NLE. The story engine is the same.
Do I need a separate subscription?
No. The subscription belongs to your account, not to a client. The trial and the plans are the same as on the website.
Does it run on Intel?
Yes. The build is universal: one file for Apple Silicon and Intel. The minimum system is macOS 13 Ventura.
What exactly goes to the cloud?
The compressed audio track and the transcript text. Video files, proxies and NLE projects stay on your disk.
Will there be a Windows version?
Not yet. On Windows and Linux use the web version: the account and projects are shared.
Your media stays put.
The story is minutes away.
Download the app and open any of your projects: it is already there.
